The School Education Board of Karnataka is recruiting eligible candidates for Teaching Vacancies through Teacher Eligibility Test. Every year, the Government conducts KARTET to find eligibility for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary Teachers (Classes 6 to 8). The Test will be held into two papers Paper-1 for I to V Classes and Paper-2 for VI to VIII Classes.

Karnataka TET Syllabus 2022 – KARTET Exam Pattern
The School Education Board Karnataka published KARTET Notification on 01st September 2022. Every year, the board conducts a Teacher Eligibility Test in two Papers. Paper-I will be for Primary (Class 1 to 5) and Paper-II for Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8).
This year, the Teacher Eligibility Test will be held on 06th November 2022. Therefore students should start self-study using Karnataka TET Syllabus and other study materials. As we know that there will be two papers on Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test.
Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a Teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note- A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII) will have to appear for both the papers (Paper I and Paper II)

KARTET Exam Pattern 2022
Before discussing topics-wise Karnataka TET Syllabus, we see KARTET Paper-I & Paper-II Pattern. All questions in the KARTET test will be 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives. Out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers on KARTET. Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a Teacher for Classes I to V. Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

KARTET Paper-I Syllabus
The test items in Language I will focus on the proficiency of the language related to the medium of instruction. While language II will focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
Language II will be a language other than language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and another as Language II from available language options.
Topics on child development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and news of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
In all the subject areas the questions for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in the Karnataka TET Syllabus 2022 of the NCERT/ State for Classes I – VIII.

Karnataka TET Syllabus 2022 – Paper 2
The test items on child development and Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 11-14 years.
Test items will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs, and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
For the Test items in the Language I will focus on the proficiency of the language related to the medium of instruction.
Test items in Language II will focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
Topics in Mathematics Science and Social studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be 30 Marks each.
The Questions in the test for KARTET Paper II will be based on the topics prescribed in the Syllabus of the NCERT/ state for classes VI -X but their difficulty level, as well as linkages, could be up to the Senior Secondary stage (PUC).
